Jungle Dance theatre

Jungle Dance has been refuge for vagabond dancers from all over the world. Tucked away from civilisation, it was initially conceived by a group of friends Danielle Alnuma who was to become my dear dance teacher and choreographer and the biggest dance influence of my life, her then husband Mohammad Alnuma, who became Jungle Dance Theather's artistic director, Lucie Walta and her husband Axel, Ying Malarat and the legendary masala-rider, Sailor.

Danielle is one passionate fire-whirl of a visionary, and her vision fuelled by Mohamed's artistic spirit was to have a classy black-box stage in the middle of the Jungle, that would rescue serious dance productions from the inevitable boredom of dusty coastal hippie bars.

The contemporary dance scene started by Danielle picked up in a flash of lightening. I became captive of the first show that took place on the new BLACK -BOX stage! Girls in silky pearly robes were flying in and out of stage bending into exalted Renaissance poses. Stravinsky, Debussy and antique Spanish guitar  was resounding through the village of Parsekar.
